ABOUT

Sam Rockman is a London-based photographer and visual artist with a broad portfolio of work that looks beyond the lens to build real connection with musicians, models, artists, and people from around the world. To date, his work has spanned analogue and digital photography, as well as music videos, live performance, and documentaries.

Sam’s photos have been featured in publications such as Wonderland, Dreamingless, Billboard, and Kerrang, and he has worked with musicians such as Mimi Barks, Hollie Cook, Dabbla, and Gentleman’s Dub Club among many others. He has also had the opportunity to capture the ephemeral images of festivals like Download, 2000 Trees, and Glastonbury.

Sam’s Finnish roots and love of the photographic image have always informed his artistic style, and his passion for documenting diverse and interesting people is a recurring theme within his existing work. Whether collaborating with artists for portraits within the Artist in Residence project or capturing unique moments as he travels, Sam always has a camera to hand, and he experiments with new technology and techniques to build a narrative that is uniquely his own.

In this, his debut solo exhibition, So Far, So Good showcases Sam’s two great loves — people and music. An exploration of energy and emotion through both digital and analogue photography, So Far, So Good showcases his versatile approach to his craft and a singular eye for an enduring image.
