TOM BLACKFORD - PIGBOY COMIC BOOK LAUNCH

EXHIBITION DATES: 16/09/22 - 16/10/22

ABOUT

The idea for the comic PIGBOY was born during the initial Covid19 lockdown in the UK in 2020. A story conceived from a single image that quickly sprouted front and back legs and could no longer be ignored or controlled.

Containing 44 pages of hand drawn/painted artwork, this is the first of a planned trilogy of comics outlining the origin story of a new kind of superhero, and at the same time, a simple story of a boy, his pig and all the horrors of this world.

Artist Tom Blackford works as an illustrator, comic artist and muralist in London.

His visual influences stem from a childhood immersed in drawing whilst obsessed with animation and Japanese culture. As a teenager in the early 90's he was drawn to the dominant graffiti culture in London and the freedom of creative expression it offered, allowing him the opportunity to see his artwork realised on a large scale.

Today, Tom's work can be found in various forms, from mural work to books, prints and adorning gallery walls.
